LOS ANGELES, California - Elaine Singrist has never liked her nose. Or her chin. "Any part of my face, really," she admitted. But her best friend thinks Elaine has it all. "I love her cheekbones," said Toni Geera, "I wish I had a face like hers." Barry Winslow, executive producer of The Learning Channel's new reality show Trading Faces, has a one word response to Geera's wish: "Granted!"

"I feel like this is why I was put here on this Earth," gushed Winslow, "This is going to be the turning point for alot of people." Winslow explained the premise of his show. "We follow two people who over the course of six weeks undergo three to six surgeries to essentially ‘trade faces'. Then we watch as they re-introduce themselves to their friends and family."

Malcolm Overby is leading a group to keep the show off the air. "It's not that we're against plastic surgery, per se," explained Overby, "But we believe it should only be used to enhance what a person has been naturally given. To abuse this power by taking on the appearance of another person goes against nature." Overby's group -- Nature Knows Best -- is gathering electronic signatures on a petition available on its web site.

"I respect Mr. Overby and NKB's right to disagree, but frankly, it's my face," protested Singrist. "They're giving me an opportunity to live in the face I've always wanted. What could be wrong with that?"

All expenses for the surgeries will be covered by TLC. "But if they decide they'd rather have their old faces back," warned Winslow, "they'll be on their own nickel. And believe me, it's a ton of nickels."
